Of Yodas and SquirrelsMina when younger was often dubbed as a clairvoyant, due to her observant and perceptive nature.
The said ability was put to test everyday whenever she would go down early in the morning to eat breakfast. The demure Japanese girl was, according to habit, always the earliest person up and about in the day. It was something she was always accustomed to, and a habit less irksome than sleeping late.
Yet, her seemingly perfect record was broken one day, by none other than the group’s maknae. Mina padded down to the kitchen of the dormitory one early morning, to be greeted by the clinking of tableware being set and the soft buzz of the morning news.
“Unnie, good morning!” Tzuyu greeted cheerfully as she came out of the kitchen holding a steaming pot of food. The table was fully set and the willowy girl was wearing an apron, smiling brightly.
“Did you cook breakfast, Tzuyu?” Mina asked dumbfounded. In all the months they’ve been together, the young Taiwanese had never cooked breakfast for them. She mentally ran over a list of events on her head. Was it someone’s birthday? Nope. Christmas? Definitely not. Some Taiwanese event? Who knows?
“Ah, I did,” Tzuyu set down the pot and smiled at her. “Sit down and eat! There’s plenty for everybody!”
Mina sat down and began ladling porridge from the pot, on the bowl before her. “You cooked porridge?”
“Yep. I figured that since everyone would be having long day today, it would be good to start the morning off with a breakfast that warms your stomach!” she quipped and sat down right across Mina to start eating.
An uncertain feeling was still nagging behind Mina’s head, yet it was overpowered by the need to eat. She decided to put that thought off for later and focus on the food.
